Many years ago, a wise man named Shinichi Suzuki coined the term "Talent Education" but what does that mean exactly? Dr. Suzuki determined that no child had inherent talent to become great, but that it was their environment that shaped who they would become- how they were nurtured and encouraged would determine their success.

Dr. Suzuki was also fascinated with how babies develop language, by listening to their parents speak and trying to imitate. He imagined that developing skills on a musical instrument could work in much the same way, and so he decided to try it. Students would begin learning the violin very young, before they could read language, and would develop their ability to physically play as well as listen very carefully, by imitating their teacher as well as the sound of good recordings.

I teach the Becky Johnson version of the Suzuki Philosophy and Method. I believe that by empowering and respecting all beings, they will achieve more greatness than would ever have been imagined. I believe in building healthy habits in life as well as violin and viola playing. I believe that every child can achieve greatness through hard work, encouragement, and a personalized approach.

"Where love is deep,
 much can be accomplished
